Job Description

As a Headstone Technician at GraveClean, you will play a crucial role in preserving and restoring headstones and monuments. Your primary responsibilities will include cleaning and relettering headstones to ensure their longevity and aesthetic appeal.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean headstones and monuments using appropriate cleaning agents, tools, and techniques to remove dirt, grime, and weathering.
• Conduct inspections to assess the condition of headstones and identify areas requiring repair or relettering.
• Reletter headstones with precision and accuracy, matching existing lettering styles and ensuring proper alignment.
• Work with sensitivity and respect for the historical and emotional significance of the memorials being maintained.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while handling chemicals, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, including before-and-after photographs and written documentation.

Requirements

• Previous experience in monument care, stone masonry, or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment specific to headstone maintenance and restoration. Training will be provided.
• Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work to ensure high-quality results.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Sensitivity, empathy, and respect when working in cemeteries and memorial sites.
• Full UK driving license with a clean driving record and own transport.
• Availability for remote work, covering a 1-hour radius of Gloucestershire.
• Must exhibit punctuality, respectfulness, and strong time management skills.
• DBS check will be required.
